The Long Hang

An identity for an annual open exhibition where the work is hung edge to edge along ninety metres of wall. The identity had to be quiet enough to disappear next to four hundred pictures.

A long gallery wall hung with framed prints receding to a vanishing point.
Printed at grade 1.85, baked into the file.

An open show is uncurated by definition, so the identity does the one job curation would have done: it establishes a rhythm along the wall and then gets out of the way.

There is no logo on the wall at all. The system is a caption, a hanging line and a number, and the mark appears only on the things you take home.
