Terms

Brantholm is two designers and a press. Everything shown here was made by us, and every project on this site is fictional — this is a template.

Fees

Every project is quoted as a fixed fee before it starts, and the quote states the scope it covers. Half is invoiced at the start and half on delivery, both payable within fourteen days. Nothing is billed hourly and there is no overage charge — if the work takes longer than we estimated, that is our estimate at fault.

Ownership

On final payment, all rights in the delivered artwork pass to you outright, worldwide and in perpetuity, with no licence to renew and no per-use fee. We keep no retained files. Typefaces are the exception: those are licensed from their foundries in your name, and the licence terms are the foundry's rather than ours.

We ask to keep the right to show the work — including work-in-progress — on this site and in talks. If the project is confidential, say so at the start and we will not.

Revisions

Two rounds of revision are in the fee. A round is one consolidated set of comments from your side, not a series of separate notes over a fortnight. Further rounds, or a change of direction after a route is signed off, are quoted separately before they are started.

Cancellation

Either side can stop the project at any point. If you stop it, you pay for the work completed to that date and you receive it. If we stop it, you pay for nothing beyond what has already been invoiced and you still receive whatever has been finished.

Photography on this site

The photographs are licensed stock, self-hosted, and graded to a single contrast grade — see Process. They stand in for the work they caption. If you are buying this template, replace them with your own before you publish; the grade script is re-runnable and the masters are kept.

Nothing here is a real business

BRANTHOLM, the six projects, the address and the telephone number are all invented. The number is inside the range Ofcom reserves for drama and cannot ring anyone, and the domain uses the reserved .example top-level domain, which can never be registered.
